Bass Center of Excellence in Pediatric Cancer & Blood Diseases
in the department of pediatrics

Our Mission

The Bass Center of Excellence in Pediatric Cancer and Blood Diseases at Stanford is an integrated endeavor involving three divisions in the department of pediatrics:  Hematology/Oncology, Stem Cell Transplantation and Cancer Biology.

Our Mission

  • To cure children of cancer and blood diseases.
  • To advance our understanding of the biology of cancer and blood diseases.
  • To provide excellent palliative care for those patients we cannot cure.
  • To train physicians to become leaders in our specialty.

Our faculty consists of physicians and scientists who work on all forms of pediatric cancer and who are part of a larger community of scientists at Stanford University. Our fellowship program is designed to  train the next generation of leaders in the field.  Clinical care is delivered in a state-of-the art facility within Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Research laboratories are located at Stanford University School of Medicine

The division's work bridges the worlds of basic science, clinical diagnosis and the treatment of cancer.

As you navigate this site, you will meet our faculty and staff, visit our training programs, and gain an understanding of what we do in our clinics and laboratories.
